One Day

One day this country will be just in the red sky,

as the sun rises like a blushing bride.

Half-fed child on the sidewalk, will smile.

Clenched fist will also be touched,

birds will sing along with their voices.

Privileged child turning like helicopter in its sleep,

unbothered by “what will people say”,

will, one day, reach out to lift the half-fed child.

For, everything will fall in place,

in love, and not in hate.
